Full day: Llandudno & Penrhyn Castle
Spend the morning at leisure in Llandudno, an elegant traditional seaside town with a vast promenade and the longest pier in Wales. The lovely sandy bay stretches between the Great and Little Ormes, with Snowdonia towering in the background behind the town. Later we visit the 19th century fantasy of Penrhyn Castle, a neo-Norman castle crammed with fascinating items such as the one-tonne late bed made for Queen Victoria. The 60 acres of grounds include exotic trees, plants, and a Victorian walled garden.
Full day: Journey to the ‘Roof-Top’ of Wales
We take the 4.7 mile rail journey to Snowdon’s summit – the highest peak in Wales. Time to drink in the spectacular views, visit the state-of-the-art visitor centre, restaurant or take a walk to the actual summit (if you feel fit enough!). Next stop is the Betws-y-Coed, a quintessential Welsh town.
Full day: Anglesey & Puffin Island Cruise
Making a stop in Caernarfon, dominated by its 13th century castle, we continue over the Menai Straights to the Isle of Anglesey with a photo stop at impressive Beaumaris Castle. Boarding a cruiser to Puffin Island we enjoy an eighty-minute cruise with live commentary as we circle round the island, home to puffins, grey seals, and dolphins.
