Portmeirion Village & Llanberis
Travelling through Snowdonia National Park we arrive at Portmeirion Village, created by architect Clough Williams-Ellis in 1925 as a purpose built Italianate style holiday destination and finished in 1976. Considered as one of Wales’s premier visitor attractions, it enjoys a stunning setting and features shops, cafes and subtropical gardens. We return via Llanberis and the spectacular Llanberis Pass.
Caernarfon & the Isle of Anglesey
We follow the North Wales coast road, between mountains and the sea, reaching the historic town of Caernarfon, dominated by its famous castle and ancient walls. In the afternoon we cross the Menai Straits onto Anglesey calling at Llanfair PG, shortened from the 58 letter longest named village in Britain. We complete our day with a stop in picturesque Beaumaris, fronted by its moated castle.
