Full day: Isle of Man Steam Railway, Port Erin & Castletown
This morning we board our carriages in Douglas and take the journey along the beautiful Manx countryside running the full length to Port Erin, a resort with a beautiful bay sheltered by Bradda Head and retaining its Edwardian flavour. We continue by coach, heading towards the Calf of Man and to Castletown, once the capital of the island and where Castle Rushen dominates the town and harbour.
Full day: Manx Electric Railway & Peel
A full day out as we board the Manx Electric Railway, the longest narrow-gauge vintage electric railway system in the British Isles. The 17 mile scenic journey reaches Ramsey, a harbour town and small seaside resort, from where we rejoin our coach to Peel, a thriving harbour town on the west coast. We return to Douglas via St Johns where the Manx Parliament still hold open air sessions each year.
