Ramsey, Laxey & ‘Lady Isabella’
A morning visit to the historic mining village of Laxey, famous for the ‘Lady Isabella’ - the largest surviving waterwheel of its kind in the world. Watch the mighty wheel turn and climb to the top for panoramic views across Glen Mooar Valley, then explore the mine and the trail to the mine ruins to learn more about the lives of the Laxey miners. This afternoon we continue to the harbour town of Ramsey in the north of the island for free time.
Southern Highlights Tour
We begin in St John’s in the north of the island, setting of the annual open air Manx Parliament on Tynwald Hill, and then on to the fishing port of Peel. In the south we visit Port Erin, a resort sheltered by Bradda Head before heading towards the Calf of Man. Last stop is Castletown, where medieval Castle Rushen dominates the town and harbour.
